Sunset Loops

There are several interesting routes starting from the Sunset Trailhead.  Sunset trail is a short trail leading to the Marshall Gulch picnic and hiking area without driving through Summerhaven or dealing with the crowds there.  It’s a good place to go in the heat of the summer.  The trailhead just past Upper Butterfly Trailhead parking lot on the left side of the road.  It’s about 22 miles from the zero marker on Mt. Lemmon Highway.  Here’s a map of some of the routes possible which we use in one of our scheduled runs–
